We have farmed in the Carrot Creek area for over 50 years, running a dairy farm and later a small feedlot. We grew most of our own crops to feed our animals and sometimes some for cash crops.
We first heard about Rhodiola from a friend who attends our church. The government had a program on, where they were trying to diversify farmers into different crops. The Rhodiola Rosea caught my interest, because it was a crop that like our colder climate. Most crops we were trying to grow required heat units which we normally were short of.
So approximately two years later our daughter was wondering if we were interested in growing Rhodiola and we were more than willing to try it.
Of course with any new crop it is nice to try to grow it, but more importantly how we’re we going to market it, so being a member of ARRGO only made sense. In ARRGO our resources are pooled together and together we are much stronger and the quantity of products is such that we can market around the world.
One of the positive things with ARRGO is the new people you meet who are dispersed across the province. Like all organizations there are many talented and diverse people, all bringing their skills to the table which is very beneficial. One of the things that I found was so interesting was the dealing world wide with the different cultures and their different way of doing things.
We of course started using Rhodiola on a regular basis and found the results very favorable. We found it evens out your emotions and gives you renewed energy.
We think it is a great product and we hope to continue to use and grow it well into the future.
