Similar to many like us who want the farming lifestyle have found, we experienced roadblocks entering farming due to cost of land and equipment. This got us thinking outside the box, finding a style of farming and crop that would fit our landbase, equipment size and lifestyle.
The tightknit ARRGO membership has been very supportive and engaging to discuss challenges and share ideas to help us succeed in growing this unique crop.
Growing rhodiola rosea has been a nonstop learning experience in unique farming practices including new crop rotations. We have experienced a vast reduction in weed populations and much healthier soil with these new techniques.
We did experience various challenges during startup. Thankfully we started with a slow & gradual approch, allowing us to use those opportunities to learn and implement them while we grew our farm and increased our acres. We have found growing rhodiola rosea has been the right choice for us.
